Chefs for Shelterhouse is Midland’s original culinary celebration — and Shelterhouse is thrilled to partner with Chefs from around Midland County to bring our community a new way to celebrate in the form of Shelterhouse Midland Restaurant Week.

The program is debuting in 2022 and is being developed as a culinary event to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence, cultivate healthy relationships, and infuse economic empowerment throughout our community while enjoying delicious cuisine.

Chefs for Shelterhouse was founded to raise funds for Shelterhouse and celebrate local chefs — with nearly 100 participating restaurants since it’s inception. The event was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 and morphed into Shelterhouse for Chefs and Survivors in 2021. Shelterhouse for Chefs and Survivors celebrated local restaurants and survivors by raising funds for the comprehensive services provided for survivors of domestic and sexual violence while also raising funds to provide meals to survivors – but not just any meals, meals from the very same Chefs and Restaurants that have supported Shelterhouse over the many years of Chefs for Shelterhouse.

This year, Chefs for Shelterhouse Midland Restaurant Week remains committed to empowering survivors while giving visitors and residents the opportunity to experience the quality, variety and hospitality that embody the Midland dining experience.

If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that Midlanders love empowering survivors and supporting our local restaurants — and Chefs for Shelterhouse Midland Restaurant Week is excited to do just that.
